Washington does this to add a player in Braun who still brings a good mix of power/speed and average to a middle of the road line-up. I like the upside of Polanco's bat especially if the Twins play him at SS. I liked the prospect arms that I moved in the deal, but feel like I can off-set the loss to add to the offense.

I confirm. I'm committing to my drastic rebuild by trying to build a young team and stockpiling high quality prospects is the best way to do this. Sure I gave up an elite talent in Braun but I did it to get younger and hopefully put myself in a better position to contend. I was also able to unload Brauns salary which is also a good thing that can set me up for future success.
