1) 2017 Proposed Trades (Pending Approval) (Approved 11-5-16)
11-1-2016 (2017 Season) Proposed Trade the Los Angeles Mariners have agreed to send Yasiel Puig and Mike Zunino to the San Diego Red Sox for minor league prospect Alex Verdugo. The reason Anthony and I agreed to make this trade was that after we reviewed our team we just took over we felt we had some rebuilding of the minor leagues to address. In order to compete this year, and compete in the future we want to have future prospects to build off of. We spoke to several teams who were interested in Puig but decided to make the move to obtain Alex Verdugo. Alex is the third highest ranked minor league player in the LaD. organization. He is currently ranked #45/100 on mlb top 100. We feel we obtained a prospect that can help our club in the future. Go La. Mariners...........
Trade:
From: Los Angeles Mariners
Yasiel Puig 2017 (6.5M) 2018 (7.5M)
Mike Zunino 2017 (1M), 2018 (2M) 2019 (3M)
From: San Diego Red Soxs
Prospect Alex Verdugo
2) 11-2-16 (2017 Season) The Los Angeles Mariners have agreed on a proposed trade with the Colorado Tigers. We are sending Taijuan Walker over in exchange for Juan Soto and Jordan Paterson. In the last two days we have been active with several members of this league in discussing trade the may help our team. When we took over this team we only had one minor league player in the top 100 of MLB ranks. We like our young core of players but felt that the farm system was really thin. Soto and Patterson are two quality prospects we decided on in a trade for Walker. We feel with Kershaw, Greinke and Felix that sp was a strong point of our team and that we could move a piece to stock the farm system. (Approved 11-5-16)
Trade
From: Los Angeles Mariners
TaiJuan Walker (Sea) 2017 ($.5M), 2018 ($1M), 2019 ($2M), 2020 ($3M)
From Colorado Tigers
Prospect: Juan Soto
Prospect: Jordan Patterson
3) 11-2-2016 (2017 Season)The Los Angeles Mariners have traded Carson Smith (BOS) to the Colorado Tigers for prospect Steven Moya (Det). This trade is pending the commissioners approval. Terms of the deal are listed below. Anthony and I are attempting to form this team with a little stronger minor league system. We like Moya because we think Detroit in the off season might open up a DH spot for him in the 2017 season. We think he can help us in 2017. Trade contracts are listed below...
(Approved 11-5-16)
Trade:
From Los Angeles Mariners
Carson Smith (Bos) 2017 ($.5M), 2018 ($.5M), 2019 ($1M), 2020 ($2M), 2021 ($3M)
From Colorado Tigers
Prospect Steven Moya-Steven played in the majors for 2016 season having only 94 Ab.
4) 11-5-16 The Los Angeles Mariners and The Cincinnati Angels have agreed on a trade that will send Zack Greinke to Cincinnati for Of Jay Bruce. The reasons we made this trade are that we are really thin in the outfield and when we took over this squad we saw that we would have to move a Sp with all the salary we had going to Sp. We decided to make this trade because we were very thin at outfield and we think we have to address this via trade due to most teams having so much more free agent cash to address certain issues via free agency. This trade is pending commissioners approval. We still feel we are in great position with Kershaw,Felix,Sonny Gray, RYU as a foundation to build off of in 2017. (Approved 11-12-16)
From: Los Angeles Mariners:
Zack Greinke: 2017 (23M), 2018 (24M)
From Cincinnati Angels
Jay Bruce 2017 (13M)
5) Arizona White Soxs send Jake Barrett P AZ 2017-20 $.5M/year
Los Angeles Mariners sends Max Fried p atl (spec) Luis Gohara P Sea (spec)
Anthony and I agreed on the deal. Barrett is a 95-96 MPH who we think maybe a closer in the future. We just spent 45 Mil on Jansen so anytime you can start building a pen with hold guys and future closers we think its a smart way to attempt lower the future cost of sustaining a solid pen. We think in obtaining Barrett it is a step in that direction......
6) The Los Angeles Mariners have agreed to send Andrew Susac to the Cleveland Braves for prospect Nellie Rodriguez. We made the move in an attempt to land a 1b prospect to our team. In our minor league system we need to build a little depth at the 1b position. We feel that this trade will add depth to our minor league system Nellie is currently the #23 ranked prospect in the Cleveland System. Trade details listed below...
