The Phila. Rangers send:
1) 2016 Minors 1st round pick(#2 overall) 2) 2017 Minors 4th round pick
Minnesota Cardinals send:
1) Alex Reyes - SP - Cardinals ( MLB # 16 overall prospect) 2) 2016 Minors 1st round pick(#6 overall)
- The reasoning for this trade from the Phila. Rangers prospective is that I am in a re-build mode this year & next and adding a talent such as Alex Reyes & acquiring a 1st round pick will enable me to continue my quest to improve this team so I able to compete for a title in 2 years time. |

Agreed. I'm willing to gamble and move Reyes, arguably one of the top pitching prospects out there, to get a prospect who I don't think would fall to me in the 6th spot.
I hope Reyes can bounce back after suspension and stay away from the substances. He should be a big part of Chuck's rotation in the near future. I'll take the 2nd overall pick and grab someone who I feel can be a big part of my Majors roster sooner than later.
Chuck drove a hard bargain and the price was high, but I'm all for it. Good dealings!
