Washington Yankees did not plan on signing Strasburg in 2017 or Desmond this year and got a chance to pick up 2 proven MLB young players with little salary impact and 2 strong prospects! I needed some MLB depth. If Gray progresses he could be a stud or he may give up a million home runs in coors field! Smith could one day steal 80 bases!

All of my trades thus far and including this one has been to remake this team that I took over into my own. Anyone care to take a look at the 2015 roster and where it stands now and you'll see why I made the trades that I did. This one is simply putting my stamp on competing THIS year. I have depth at SP to allow Rodon/Gray to leave. I've built up a semi good farm system and have a strong OF to allow Smith to depart. Castellanos I didn't want to give up, but I'm getting a stud (I hope to get 200IP) and it's the price you have to pay. Maybe I'll replace him in FA. Ian Desmond is a throw in that was going to be released that I can RFA and use as depth (If I win him)
