Cincinnati accepts. I reached out to Houston a while back about Casas in exchange for high-ceiling prospects, and we landed here. I have several elite prospects that should be coming up around the same time, so moving a couple of elite pieces to get Casas, who is 1-2 years ahead in his timeline. Looking forward to having Casas as the anchor in my lineup for 2025 that I can start to build around. Thanks to Houston for the creativity to get this done, best of luck to his Padres club.

Confirmed. I acquired Casas this offseason with the goal of keeping him long-term. But a package that both helps me make a strong push this year while he is injured AND sets me up with elite talent for the near future was something I couldn't pass up.
