Washington Yankees sends Brady House (WSH), AJ Smith-Shawver (ATL), and Brandon Marsh (PHI)

to the New York Royals for Alec Bohm (PHI), Max Fried (ATL), Triston McKenzie (CLE), and 2023 pick 4.06.

This was a tough trade to make as I REALLY didn't want to give up House or AJSS because I believe they have big upside. But in effort to retool my pitching staff this year I couldn't pass up the chance to get some proven arms, and I didn't have anyone I could PT and now I can do so with Fried and have a lot of control over him.

Some good talks NYR as we both worked hard to make this deal happen.

This was definitely not an easy deal for either side. There was more back in forth in this one than probably any other deal I’ve ever made. I hate losing someone like Fried, but I really like AJSS in return. TMac has injury concerns that still give me pause, so I was ok with including him here. I have been high on House since he was drafted and think he will at least be on par with Bohm’s production in the next 2 years, at a much better price point. Marsh gives me a nice OF addition and the pick sent it over the top.

Always nervous to give up proven production for prospects, but I think my ROI will be ok on this one.

Big shout out to Jake for working through this with me. Best of luck to him moving forward.
