I propose changing the minor league draft order to put the 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th place regular season finishers in a lottery. The top 10 finishers would draft as normal but the first five picks would be established by this lottery. That should reduce the benefits of tanking.

I like the lottery idea. A couple of ideas. What if the team from the bottom five that had the most "Games Played" (stat fantrax keeps under standings) got pick 1 and so forth. For example. 11th - Baltimore - 2,349 games played - Would pick 1st 12th - Washington - 2,213 games played - Would pick 3rd 13th - Miami - 2,347 games played - Would pick 2nd 14th - Philadelphia - 2,201 games played - Would pick 4th 15th - Cincinnati - 1,851 games played - Would pick 5th Another option, we do an actual lotto, but your % chance of getting first pick is based off games played. For example. 11th - Baltimore - 2,349 games played - 30% chance 12th - Washington - 2,213 games played - 20% chance 13th - Miami - 2,347 games played - 25% chance 14th - Philadelphia - 2,201 games played - 15% chance 15th - Cincinnati - 1,851 games played - 10% chance There is a website that can do this. www.fantasydraftlottery.com/ We'd just insert the team names and add how many balls (their % above) they would receive in the lottery.

I like either of these approaches. I think games played is a good proxy for effort.

I agree with either of these. Happy to put it to a vote when y’all are.

I agree with either of these. Happy to put it to a vote when y’all are. I’d also be fine including a few more teams than 5. I think the last month or two of the season, particularly in this league this year, was basically a non-factor because of how far Rusty was ahead of us. So I know that I specifically had zero motivation to set a lineup and I was in 7-9th place during that time. If I knew I could get a better pick because I had more games played, I’d be more likely to stay engaged. Maybe three tiers of 5? 11-15 are eligible for picks 1-5 6-10 are eligible for picks 6-10 1-5 have no chance to swap, but they are likely the only ones competing at year end anyways.

I agree that a rule change to limit "tanking" is healthy for the league. The games played idea is good, in one of my daily lineup move leagues we use AB's/IP's to combat this problem and it has worked for 3 years. I would think games played would work in this format.

I like these ideas as well, particularly the games played as a factor in determining where you pick.
