The Toronto Brewers give...
Jeter Downs 2B BOS (prospect) Nolan Gorman 3B STL (prospect) Heriberto Hernandez C/OF TEX (prospect) Brayan Buelvas OF OAK (prospect) Alexander Vizcaino SP NYY (prospect) Michael Grove SP LAD (prospect) Kwang Hyun Kim SP STL ('21-'24: $0.5M)
The Minnesota Cardinals give...
Bobby Witt Jr. SS KC (prospect) Jhon Torres OF STL (prospect) Jeremy Pena 2B HOU (prospect) Jon Berti SS MIA ('21: $1.95M, '22: $4.55M)
In this deal, I am mainly able to acquire Witt, whom I regard as one of the best prospects in the game, and fill a MLB hole at shortstop with Berti. To do so, I am sacrificing a large quantity of value from my farm team, but I feel it is worth it for one of my favorite prospects and to fill a current need. (I have to publicly apologize to Rick and acknowledge my own stupidity because in our dealings I mistakenly offered him a player that I didn't even own! Rick was gracious in forgiving my obvious mistake and we were able to put together a deal that we're both happy with. Hopefully, despite the mistake, there will be more dealings ahead with Rick! Best of luck to him.

Minnesota Cardinals confirm the trade.
I like the idea of acquiring several solid pieces as in Downs, Gorman and Hernandez, in the place of one standout piece. There is a lot of talent going back and forth in this deal, mostly due to each individuals player preferences. As for the mistake, it was no big deal. We have all done it and I'll probably do it again sometime in the future. We were able to work around it and still get the deal done.
Best of luck to Dave and the Toronto Brewers!
