Guys,
To simplify for the whole league at once, to be eligible for this minors expansion draft, players would need to have been signed by a team prior to our selecting initial franchise keepers back in December.

My bad, I actually emailed Jason this morning thinking that Baldoquin was eligible. I thought he signed back in December before we posted our initial keepers. Looks like he didn't sign until we were well into January.

Yoan Lopez is not eligible. Neither is Kang. I'm sure there are others. I'm sorry because this probably affected the Miami-Baltimore trade for the 1st round pick.

What shall be done here guys? I'm locking the thread until this is figured out.

Bottom line, if a player had not signed prior to our initial keepers back in mid-December, they cannot be drafted here. Would have to be offered FA contracts via blind bidding.

Drew - looking for some back up here as you might be able to explain better. Thanks!

Bottom line - any of these minor league players we're able to draft now would have been able to be kept as part of the maximum 25 per franchise. This is the reason it's called "expansion" as for example, this kid I picked Molina could have been one of the original Yankees minor leaguers that Rich (Washington Yankees) kept.

Lopez wouldn't have been able to be kept by Arizona because he hadn't signed yet. Baldoquin hadn't signed with Angels yet.

Looks like to me he signed around dec20th. Either way I would be fine w/ Baltimore drafting him since you( the commish) made the mistake( if indeed he signed in January) and told him he could.

Everyone had their initial majors and minors rosters posted by December 22. We finished franchise selection on December 14 and guys started posting them right after that and we took about a week to get that done. If that means anything here...

Per Derrick's post above, Baldoquin did indeed sign on December 20th. Not in January.

He actually could have been selected as one of Cincy Angels initial keepers during that timeframe and wasn't. Lends me to believe I was correct in letting Jason know this.
