My justification for this trade was that I'm higher on Cabrera than on Cron (might be some of that home-team bias), even with the big contract.  But was able to offset it by moving Chapman as part of the deal and adding a couple of pitching pieces.

Agree. I didn’t think I’d get out from under Cabrera’s deal. I like him but he’s aging. Cron may not put up the same numbers but he’s cheap. I was willing to give up some marginal prospects to get a bit of salary relief. Chapman is good for some saves too.
