Scott won the Keuchel sweepstakes. It was indeed a hard decision, but gotta build for the future and moving a major piece like Keuchel on a good contract then I would need to get a fair amount in return.
Detroit sends:
Dallas Keuchel (HOU) 17:$2M, 18:$3M Ryan McMahon COL (Prospect) 2018 5th round draft selection
Minnesota sends:
Randal Grichuk STL 17:$0.5M, 18:$0.5M, 19:$0.5M Tyler O'Neill OF SEA (Prospect) AJ Puk P OAK (Prospect) Patrick Weigel SP ATL (Prospect)

Agree to this deal. I thought I was out of the running but kept at it. Jon and I were close but I had to give him one additional top prospect to get this done. If I'm going to make any run at winning this thing I needed another top arm in my rotation and was willing to give up this great talent.
Grichuk on league minimum for 2 more years gives Jon a valuable and inexpensive OF. Puk could be awesome. O'Neill could be awesome. Weigel could be very good. They're still all ifs which I'm willing to bargain with now. Keuchel 2017 looks more like 2015 Cy than 2016 version. I'm very happy to get McMahon too since I can literally root him on in person this year in Hartford (before he gets promoted to AAA or called up to Colorado to play 1B) and he's been tearing up the Eastern League. Jon throwing in a draft pick was gravy on the deal for me.
Win-win deal.

Damn. Looks like I lost the Keuchel sweepstakes and will have to continue to vie with Scott for the top spot. Co-commish approved.
