San Diego sends:
Ryan Madson OAK 17:$10M
Ace's rebuilding/firesale continues! Figuring that if I'm going for it this year I need to go all out and keep adding major league talent at or near prime positions. Madson should be closing in Oakland at least to start the year. We'll find out if his arm/shoulder hold up and if he can hold off other guys in that bullpen. $10M is a lot to take on but it's only for one year. I like Luke Weaver's potential and future in the Cards rotation but he was a nice blue chip that I had to dangle in order to get this deal done. Ace asked for Diaz as part of a package and even though I'm excited about this kid's power, he's still young and at least a couple years away so I'm going to let Ace wait that out.
